A UNIVERSAL CALL
“Holiness—i.e. plenitude of love and self-giving —is a universal call. God wants us all to experience His communion and collaborate with Him in the salvation of humanity.”
LAST APRIL, about one million people from all over the world gathered in Rome to take part in the canonisation of two great figures of the 20th century—Popes John XXIII and John Paul II—during a Mass that was concelebrated by Pope Francis and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Meant to underline the unity of the Church, in a time when many people feel obfuscated by differences of style and personality, this unique event was quickly dubbed by the press as “The day of the four popes”.

LIGHT IS THE LAST WORD

In other words, the Cross is part of an evolutionary process towards a fullness of beauty, of love and of life still in the making; we all are deeply embedded in an evolutionary world where the fullness is ahead of us and not behind us.
